I am sure you are pleased the Congress is now over and you can take a rest, but I trust you are looking back with satisfaction at a job well done. I personally enjoyed the week very much - the science, the work chat, the meeting with old friends, and the social occasions.
My return travels went fine, but the move from a warm BH 'winter' to a cold Edinburgh 'summer' is not a pleasant change.
I look forward to seeing you at 9WCGALP, and I hope before then.

The congress went well and probably better than most people expected. All the presentation rooms were easily accessible and on the same floor. There was plenty of time to discussions. Many people had safety concerns but I have not met anyone personally who experienced a safety problem. Shortage of food at the gala dinner was definitely a depressing point for you, but definitely nothing that you could do about, and preferable to having serious problems during the sessions.
The CD works well. For papers to show up on my computer, my computer needed two additional files msvcp80.dll and msvcr80.dll. They are both available at http://www.dll-files.com.

Today I would like to tell you how much I like the 8th CD. Your 8th CD is …easy to use and has a very effective search feature and all PDF articles I wanted to see loaded fast and easily. The author index is complete and easy to navigate. Thanks for providing all the information on one easy to handle medium and not having to carry or ship those heavy books around the world. As you told me in BH, you were the first to go completely electronically, it worked well and it helps all of us.
I wanted to give you a positive feedback and the next time I will be in Brazil and Minas I would like to let you know and hope we will find time to visit again in BH.

First, I would like to thank you again for the great congress we had. I know it has been very difficult sometimes for you but I think you can be very proud of what has been done.The scientific content was excellent and the environment you created was such that we had a great time talking to and sharing ideas with "the rest of the world". Now you can relax and enjoy. I know the feeling: it is a good one after such a stressful time.
Of course, I also want to thank you for your acknowledgements at the end of the gala dinner. My contribution was very limited and rather passive but if it has been useful for you, I find great pride of it. Thanks again
The congress also allowed me to discover Brasil (first time). I enjoyed it very much and I am impressed by how your economy seems to be doing.
My way home was a bit special. I had a good day of rest on Saturday in Belo. Then on Sunday I took a flight to Rio. I got into the Air France plane to Paris but after 100 meters approaching the runway, a huge storm started. The pilot stopped the plane and said "let's wait until it gets better". 10 minutes later, it did get better but a luggage container had been pushed away by the very strong wind and had crashed on one of the plane reactors... It took sometimes before they concluded the plane could not go but by that time, several heavy jets had arrived and we had to wait... Well, after 6 hours sitting in the plane, we were taken by bus to a 4 stars hotel near the beach, south of Rio. Initially, they told us that we would probably have to wait for 48 heures, the spare parts having to be brought from France or the US. But we finally did take off on the next day (evening). So I am back to work now !

I would like to say how much good was to take part in the WCGALP8. It was really a great opportunity to us, mainly from latin-america. So, I want to, publically, congratulate Prof. Madalena for his dedication as well as idealism. Essential trait for a scientist. As was said by Prof. Miztal in other words: talent and motivation. Mainly, as difficulties of many orders are regarded.
